Ysanne was interviewed for PRS’ monthly print publication, M Magazine, about licensing music for sync, and specifically her thoughts about the BPI’s Sync Mission to Los Angeles.
Read Ysanne’s interview to find out her thoughts on why sync is an essential promotional tool for musicians, as well as an additional revenue stream.
Just rolled back into town from SxSW, the world’s biggest festival for new and emerging music, with 2,200 official artists playing over 5 days, and about 2,200 unofficial artists playing unofficial shows too.
I was there with Treya Lam, the musician who I’m managing and producing. She played the official Taiwan Music Night showcase, which was attended by music industry leaders from Taiwan and throughout Greater China. It was a magical, beautiful night of incredible music.
I was also reporting back to Amazing Radio in the UK, with daily features and interviews (including my interview with Lyndsey Parker, Senior Editor of Yahoo! Music, as pictured above), and live radio broadcasts from the heart of Austin, Texas (technology permitting).
Check out my SxSW blog on Amazing Radio.
This is Treya. We’ve been working together since January 2014, so for over a year, but I’ve not yet mentioned her because everything up to now has been pre-production. Now we’re in Los Angeles, and we’ve started recording her first album, which I’m producing ready to release with Amazing Artists.
First up, we’re following up her showcase at The Standard, Hollywood with an official showcase at SxSW on March 21.
Just back in New York after visiting Ruby Friedman in New Orleans. One of the great voices of Los Angeles, Ruby moves around as much as me, which made it even more special to spend time with her in the studio and on stage down in Nola.
Can’t wait to catch up with her again, always an honor and a pleasure.
