Big thanks for Jason Mandl for making it all happen smoothly, to Todd and Joelle for being such fantastic friends, and to the Eckhart and Sawyer families for being awesome.

A magical evening for the whole To Be Friends family.

Boston premier for To Be Friends 28 August 2010

I’m thrilled to announce that To Be Friends, starring Joelle Carter and Todd Stashwick, written and Directed by Jim Eckhart, and produced by Aaron Eckhart has been given the honor of opening the Boston Film Festival!

I composed the soundtrack to this movie, coached the actors how to play violin and cello, and also did a little “body-doubling” for close-ups of hands and stuff. I first received the draft screenplay in 2008, saw the whole process unwind from paper to finding the actors, cinematographer and editor, and then had the honor to live on location for a month during filming, supervising the music scenes just out of shot.

Truly a dream movie project for a strings composer… what an amazing experience!
Can’t wait to see and hear the movie in the big movie theater in Boston.
