Mojo magazine said I compose “intricate immersive soundscapes.”

My clients include: HBO, BBC, Discovery \\ Chanel, Vans, Lush. A bunch of platforms and brands. And my creative collabs include: Smashing Pumpkins, Tilda Swinton, Tiesto - actually, a ton of famous creatives from a very wide arc of creative genres, generations, geographies, and disciplines.

The nonprofits I’ve worked with include Sea Shepherd, Childfund, Jail Guitar Doors, and Scenic Hudson - actually, the ongoing work I do with Scenic Hudson includes a gorgeous video celebration of Upstate New York that I worked on in June 2025, as well as my ongoing work with The Cultural Salon, an arts organization based in the West Bank.

I trained in classical composition, conducting, and violin at the Royal College of Music, but pretty much ignore the boundaries of traditional musical genres and mediums. I love strings, and other things, too. I was the only female composer to be represented by George Martin’s agency, Air-Edel, when I was signed.

Born and raised in London, I was a long-distance part of New York’s music scene in the 90s from my base in London. In 2004 I moved to LA full time, and then to NYC in 2014. Back and forth, and London, Tokyo, Taipei and Prague, too, with long stints in India, South America, and beyond.

I’ve been genre-busting the whole time, with clients and collabs that include The Smashing Pumpkins, Christina Perri, Tiesto, Elton John, Black Uhuru, Asian Dub Foundation, Psychic TV, Laurie Anderson, ShyFX, The Master Musicians of Joujouka, David J (Bauhaus), Hawkwind, and Suede. Also a film featuring Tilda Swinton, where she’s fake-playing violin, and I’m the sound of the scrapings you see her make.

I redefined the parameters of music with my sensory experiences, as described in my TEDx, and in Cool Hunting.

I often combine composing music with designing sound, as one integrated soundscape, and I still serve strings with unique textures, even in this day of fabulous sample libraries for strings. They still can’t touch me for realness and emotional response, as well as versatility, if I may be so bold.

My philosophy in three words?

Creative. Meticulous. Unclassical.

Anything else?

Tenacious, discerning, visionary. Unconventional. I just can’t.

That’s probably why my current musical partnership with Carlos Dengler works so well, we’re both all of these things.

Also, I’m complicated. Much prefer to be at the side of the stage, or behind the camera, writing, or quietly mentoring people who could use a bit of creative direction, which I’ve been doing since 2013, leveraging my own opportunities, creative knowledge, and understanding of strategy for the greater good of all who pass my way.

You’ll find me making music for films, and also, making my own films. I spent a few years developing nonfiction for Netflix, which were all ultimately nixed by Corona. You can see the Billie Eilish video on the landing page from this series of projects, but that’s all that happened due to the concept of Fifty - FIVE-ZERO - humans playing music in the same room not being a possibility during ‘rona. There will be more shows…. but not right now.

I’ve had a number of books published, including books for HarperCollins and Rizzoli. I’m currently writing a book that I’m excited about, and I write for various media outlets.

Hit me up if you want me to do stuff for you, or reach out to Echoette the New York based music publisher & sync agency that currently represents my catalogue, including the new music I’m working on in 2025 with my partner.
